ZABBIXW32 monitoring other hosts than localhost

    Hi!

I'm with a very serious problem.

We (my business) have 5 Web Servers using ZABBIX (Win2003/IIS boxes) that take info from some DBs, including 2 SQLServer 2003 servers (also Win2003 boxes). And we need to monitor it.

The problem: only the webservers (and, presumably, any service in the webserver boxes) can access this SQLServer boxes. And we need to monitor it with ZABBIX.

Could the ZABBIXW32 monitor other hosts than localhost? For example: could a ZABBIX agent in the webservers monitor the SQLserver boxes?

    Some tips?

    Thanks for the attention.

Can the sql boxes reach the zabbix server? If so, u can install the agent on the sql box and let it push it's readings to the zabbix server. (Select "Zabbix Agent (Active)" when defining items for the sql box)

In the worst case use custom scripts (wmi, batch) and userparameters on the webservers to monitor the sql box.
