Ping Item output

Hi there,

Does anyone know if i can ping the output from an item?

The case is i have a template with an lld rule that has an item that returns a IP address, thus creating many ip addresses, and i want then to ping those, i can't ping them as hosts because they are dynamic.

I have the same question. I've tried several different approaches but can't seem to figure it out.

For example, I set the INVENTORY.HOST.ROUTER from the output of an Item but I can't seem to access that field from any other item.

Seems like such a simple use case that I'm surprised its not more obvious.

Surely there needs to be a way to access a INVENTORY item from the HOST?
