    IIS Monitoring Through Zabbix

    Hello
I am very new to zabbix and has done some research around the same. I want to monitor IIS and its various parameters.
I understood that by default Zabbix do not provide any template for IIS so I have to configure 3rd party components.
I have tried a number of template as below but none seem to work. I still think I am missing some steps.
I need some solution, if IIS is not monitored then I have to drop Zabbix.

Zabbix IIS 7 Worker Process Template. Contribute to vavere/zabbix-w3wp development by creating an account on GitHub.

    TIA

Don't threaten us that you won't use Zabbix if it doesn't do IIS. It obviously does because you've provided proof that it does. I guess you'll have to force yourself to learn it because you can't drop it since it does what you asked.

Consider Zabbix as being a framework for monitoring. It doesn't have all fancy shiny templates built-in with loads of items/triggers/etc.

That does not mean Zabbix can't monitor something like IIS. Zabbix is a framework, so it CAN monitor IIS:
      • Port checks (tcp/80, tcp/443)
      • Windows Service checks (IISADMIN, W3SVC)
      • Performance checks (Posts, throughput, etc)

So if you don't want to learn how to do this (and it's really not that much work), Zabbix is not the right tool for you.

But, if you're willing to invest some time in playing with different templates, build some of your own, Zabbix can be a really awesome monitoring framework in your environment.

Seems people here took my one sentence personal. But if I meant other way I apologize. About learning ... if I wouldn't have researched about that I will not choose it. So learning is always a part of life.

Through your comments too I have learning that arrogance is not solution to everything.

Now coming to the point , I have already configured Zabbix in many products with JAVA, Tomcat, SQL Server Linux and Window Servers. Its only that i am configuring IIS for first time.

Anyways it seems people in zabbix forum are not ready to help and I myself has written some WMIs.

Thus will test and anyways post in forum so that someone needy will get help when needed quickly.

well, if you configured monitoring for windows servers, you probably know how to use performance counters and win services checks, etc. You can use it to monitor IIS too. And acropia provided 3 different solutions.

          BTW, read this great FAQ
