Zabbix-Ruby Integration for Data Collection

Hello Everyone,

I am new to Zabbix and have installed this tool for monitoring our hardware and webpages. We have Ruby monitoring configured in our environment and I want the data of Ruby to populate into Zabbix version 2.2

Hello Everyone,

Zabbix supports such monitoring offering web scenarios items, IPMI and SNMP based monitoring.

We have Ruby monitoring configured in our environment and I want the data of Ruby to populate into Zabbix version 2.2

Are you aware of this that sampling metrics data should be as light as possible and "I want the data of Ruby" sentence is orthogonal path with such target at the end .. because ruby is not the lightest scripting language?

In monitoring practice very often is possible to observe something which I call "monitoring quantum effect" where method of obtaining monitoring data affects monitored values or (worse) is affecting monitored object.

Really try to think about this sometimes .. before you may start doing something stu^H^H^Hnot wise

You can pass to zabbix any data using backed scripts.
I'm suggesting start reading documentation about this by reading parts about different item types supported by zabbix OOTB:

Just do not reinvent the wheel. If it is some widely available hardware I'm almost sure that someone already done monitoring of such device in form (almost) ready to use template.
