    Host groups

    Hi

We are rolling out a Zabbix proxy solution to the various server rooms spread worldwide, but we're seeing a odd issue as in when a host has registered via the proxy, each action rule assigns the new host to various host groups, but it also automatically assigns new hosts to the group Discovered hosts and sometimes it assigns a Linux host to a Windows hosts group and the other way around, then sometimes it will assign a new host to the correct group but after a while it adds say the Linux host to a Windows group and keeps it on the Linux hosts group.

It's really confusing how to debut this and annoying since it's the last piece that we have to resolve before the is done with the testing phase and can do into production.

    Has anyone seen this before?

    From docs... (network discovery)
Created hosts are added to the Discovered hosts group (by default, configurable in AdministrationGeneral

). If you wish hosts to be added to another group, add a Remove from host groups operation (specifying “Discovered hosts”) and also add an Add to host groups operation (specifying another host group), because a host must belong to a host group.
This is failsafe built-in, so even if you have no rules to put hosts in other groups, your host will still register.
Rest of it I cannot comment, as there is no info how your registration rules are created.
