Monitor user usage of a VM

Hi There,

In the company i' m working at we are using Zabbix for monitoring our VMs. Most of them are Centos, Redhat and some are Windows or windows server. What i'm asking is if there is a way to monitor if a vm is being used by users or not. I'm interested on finding a way to determine if a vm is in use or not so as to proceed with decommission if not being in use any more. Is there a way to see that through Zabbix or generate a report?

What i need is to be able to see if a vm is being used by users. I don't care to monitor what users are doing when they are using the vm. I just need to know if the vm is being used.
