VMware Discovery - Attaching additional templates
Hello,
I've configured our Vsphere server in Zabbix 2.2.1 which successfully discovered the Hypervisors and the virtual machines on each. It is working great to collect the information as defined in the base template such as CPU, Disk, Memory etc.. As each virtual machine serves a different function I would like to add additional monitoring for services on the individual virtual machines such as SFTP login functionality, FTP login functionality, Apache monitoring, MySQL etc...
Is there a way - without linking a template to 'Template Virt VMware Guest' - to individually attach additional templates to the discovered virtual machines?
Eg.. I don't want to monitor MySQL on all of the virtual machines just on two of the 100 that are discovered. When I open up the host all the items are greyed out and I can't attach additional templates.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I assume the design is that I attach all my templates to the 'Template Virt VMware Guest' and go into each and every discovered VM and disable the Items that I don't wish to monitor?
