Sending alerts to Zabbix via email

Hello everyone,

After a lot of time with nagios I am very happy with Zabbix.

I wanted to know if is possible to send mail from other programs to Zabbix?

In nagios it is possible and I'm sure it can be in Zabbix

Help appreciated

Not sure what do you mean, what zabbix suppose to do with emails? You can use zabbix_sender to send data to zabbix server

There is a programs that sends an e-mail notification.
For example: Symantec backup exec, acronis ....

In nagios You can set an e-mail to receive the e-mail notification when a backup fails.

And you can see in the monitoring "backup fails"

AFAIK, there is no such built-in feature in nagios, it's probably done using some script? I think it could be pretty easy modified to use zabbix_sender to report data to zabbix.
