Zabbix Agent 4.0 to Zabbix Server 5.0

Hi Guys,

Newbie here. Would like to ask on how to configure Zabbix agent 4.0 to connect to a Zabbix Server 5.0.

Zabbix agent side settings need to be the same for 4.0 and 5.0. As a minimum setting, set the values of Server, ServerActive and Hostname in zabbix_agentd.conf.

Thanks for the response. I was using Zabbix 5.0 LTS on RHEL 8, and the configuration you advice is not working. But for some reason, it works after I downgrade my OS to RHEL 7.

The settings may be different depending on the OS. I can't understand just the message that it doesn't work. We can't guess what the problem is without showing us how it doesn't work and what the error message is.
For example, when you ask a question, try to write as much information as possible:

- What kind of environment are you using
- What kind of setting was made
- What kind of phenomenon is occurring
- If an error message or log is output, its contents

My apologies of lack of information. The settings you mention such as Server, ServerActive and Hostname does not work on agent 4.0 on client host centos 7.1 connecting to a rhel 8 zabbix server 5.0. So i decided to rebuild my zabbix server 5.0 on rhel 7 and it works even i got an agent 4.0 on the client host. hopes this clarifies. thanks.
