    Complete newbie - installation issue

    Hi all

    I'm having my 1st look at Zabbix today. I am using the Zabbix wizard to install on to a clean Ubuntu 20 server via putty and I'm getting an issue very early in the setup. I'm hoping someone can point out where I've gone wrong. Apologies in advance for what might be a very basic issue. I am new to Ubuntu and I don't have enough experience to troubleshoot yet.

    My installation selection is 5.0 LTS -> Ubuntu -> 20.04 -> PostgreSQL -> Apache

    I've followed the steps in Step 2a and 2b. All seems to have worked.

    However, in step 2c, Create initial database, my ubuntu is throwing an error at me. Has a previous step not worked correctly or are there undocumented steps I need to follow?

    Hi
    1st of all, when you type
    Code:
    sudo cat /etc/passwd
    , do you see a "postgres" user ?
    If not, maybe your postgres installtaion has not worked

    You could try
    Code:
    sudo dpkg -l | grep -i postgres
    , and see if it is installed

    I know this is a very basic thing, but sometimes basic things are the worst

    Can you also give us the URL of the Zabbix manual page you used?
