We have over 1600 devices connected to our Zabbix Server, About 1300 of them are using the Active Zabbix Agent, and the others are using SNMPv3. The configuration for all devices is the same with the exception of the specifics for each device, however we only have a portion of each of these showing Green (Available) in the Agent column. We have compared the export files for the configuration and the only difference we have found is the devices that are Green have an entry for (1(or 0)). We have manually gone into the other Devices and done a Mass update and added this to the devices that are Red and it has not changed anything. We have cloned (Full Clone) Green devices and changed the IP address and name as needed and they still do not report Green like the device it was cloned from. We have run extended logging on the good and bad devices and find nothing out of the ordinary, both devices show loss of communication from time to time and good re-connection. We are receiving some data from the devices just not the detail we want like we are receiving from the devices that are showing Green. Does anyone have any ideas of where we can start looking to correct this issue? Thank you,

Cyber,
Sorry for the delay in response to your explanation. Thank you very much for that level of detail. I will say that is where I was, I have been comparing export files down to every last line.
Here is my dilemma: I have compared Exports from four different devices, two of them have a green ZBX Availability box and two of them have red ZBX Availability boxes. Now all of these devices have the same, Configuration, templates, and are of the same type (I.E. Toshiba PC.s) however the data that is reported back from the green devices is more than the red devices. Very Specifically (Filesystems) Disk space data. See attached docs. (The difference in Items is the Filesystem items pulled back) -
From the example "4 Host Compare.pdf" file you sent, one would think that hosts 78 and 83 have zabbix agent (passive) items that are not reachable by the server.
From those "red" hosts, are all items available? Aren't there any item with "not supported" or error message?Comment

Hi markfree, Sorry for the delayed response. I had gone back to reviewing configurations of the agent files and templates. I do not have any items with error messages or not supported. Previously I did and I disabled those items in my previous rounds of trouble shooting and currently all Items in my templates seem to be valid. I validated the config files on Host's were matching, they have the same information for the Active and Passive check Servers. All host's in question are using the same templates so it can't be that requested information is configured differently. I have just today changed some of the Items in the Templates from Active to Passive. I will now give the system time to update and run active and passive checks on it's own before I determine if the Host's are or are not providing Passive Data.
Thank you to those that have posted and cleared a few things up for me! I am just trying to figure out why it works at one site but not another with same config files and Templates! Connection to the sites has been verified to all sites and all sites are pulling some or all Active Data, Just having issues with the Passive stuff right now.

Device specs do not matter, agent config specs matter..
Cloning a host and changing ip/name does not make that other host work as initial one..
As you said "About 1300 of them are using the Active Zabbix Agent"... Configuring agent as Active, does not mean that absolutely everything must be done active way. I just wanted to point out, that Active Items have no influence on agent availability icon. I think all those mentioned items, you are checking, can be done both ways, as active or passive checks. There very few items at all which can be used only active way. You can look into item config, is type set as "Zabbix agent" or "Zabbix agent (active)". Considering, that some hosts report agent availability as "green", there must be some items set as passive checks.
If we assume, that agent config is same for all, templates are same, items are same, then maybe you have issues with connection from server (or proxy) to some hosts? If you have at least one passive item and it receives values, then that agent availability icon must be green..
Or you have some differences in templates and some hosts don't get passive items installed?Comment
