Is there a way to add an Applications in the Monitoring section? While I have the hosts section some of these hosts have specialized apps running on them and I would like to monitor at the app level.

What version of Zabbix are you using?
If you are using Zabbix 5.2 or later, you can save the filtering settings of the Problems screen, and you will be able to use that function to easily access the filtered information on a per-application basis. Regarding the Hosts screen, it is possible to filter by host group etc. and save the setting.
