Zabbix 2.4 install on CentOS 6.5

Hello, I am new to Zabbix and still pretty new to Linux. We have a lab with an (almost) isolated network. I am trying to install Zabbix 2.4 on my CentOS 6.5 box. I have tried to run the live versions, which boot to Suse then fail. And I have run zabbix-2.4.0-1.el6.i386.rpm which doesn't look like it does anything. I do find a Zabbix folder in /etc but it is totally empty. Basically I am just looking for some guidance on installing this software on an air gaped network. I've been doing research for a few days and have just hit a wall. Any help is appreciated.

    Cheers!

Hello and welcome to Zabbix forums!

There are some online manuals as well as official documentation which can help you a lot.

I have some internal notes on the procedure but not in a form that could be published with lots of editing. If you have some more detailed questions then I could try to answer.

    Best Regards,
    Ingus

Thanks for your reply Ingus. I am taking a different approach now. I want to run the Zabbix Appliance in Virtual Box. The install hangs though. Check the attachment. It shows as far as I am getting. Thanks again.

          Hi,

How much RAM did you specify in Virtualbox?

          1024MB should be enough though.

          Best Regards,
          Ingus

Zabbix 2.4 install by Zabbix SIA's repository is support for CentOS 6.

              After install zabbix-release-2.4-1.el6.noarch.rpm,
I think you must clean for yum cache.

              ex.
              Code:
              # yum clean all
              # yum install zabbix-server-mysql zabbix-web-mysql

Setup Script for Zabbix 2.4 on CentOS 6 64bit

                Joe,

I have a little setup script for you to simplify the process of installing Zabbix 2.4 on CentOS 6 64bit as much as possible. You still have to import/create database and credentials manually, but all system package related things are automatic. Let me know how it works for you. Here you go: https://javapipe.com/files/zabbix-2....p-rhel6-64.txt

                Good luck!
