Database Transactional data monitoring

Hi Guys,

I am a newbie in zabbix but am enjoying the tool so far. I have a question and hope you guys can point me in the right direction.

I am wondering if I could use zabbix to connect to a Database and query (maybe using stored procedures) transactional data (i.e.: CRM or ERP), then send alerts depending on the results.

I sthi possible ? If so, can someone point me in the right direction to get some documentation to start working on this ?
