SNMPv3 not working - Cannot connect to ": Unknown user name.

Hi, Iam trying to use SNMPv3 on my IBMC to poll some data but zabbix refuses to work with me.



It works on the linux where zabbix is installed on but in the zabbix it says "Cannot connect to "172.25.2.20:161": Unknown user name."

From what I see you may have different protocols set on your zabbix environment from your snmpwalk... Which Zabbix Version are you running? Can't you choose your Privacy Protocol to just AES and the Authentication Protocol to SHA?

Hello and thank you for your response, i am running the newest zabbix 5.4.4, i can choose between SHA 1, 224, 256 for privacy protocol there is just AES so it should be right... but as you can see in the linux cmd it works with sha 1 and aes, but as i did my research the template doesn't support snmpv3 ... omg anyway thanks for reply and have a nice day

same issue here
zabbix 6.0.2 -snmpv3 - to cisco 9300.
the SNMP icon is GREEN light but getting "cannot connect to <X.X.X.X>:.Unknow user name"
I have duble check the user and password as wekk the protocols.

Try to change level of privacy/authentication protocol try change check/uncheck use combined requests and last level is chnge simpler password. Any host has problem with implementation SNMPv3 must us only SNMPv2.I experienced that the manufacturer declared SNMPv3 support on the website and as a result, even after the FW update, the remedy did not occur. Chinese manufacturer.
