Host configuration - using name instead of IP addres

Hello all

I'm new at zabbix just starting to use it.

I'm trying to add a host, in this case a router, do be monitored by zabbix and I would like to use its name lookup instead of the IP address. I've read the manual, but it is not clear which configuration I have to do or change to enable this functionality.

The DNS is working fine and the name lookup of router is responding fine.

Can someone help me solve this problem.

Configuration >> Hosts >> Create Hosts

Click "add" in "SNMP Interfaces".
Now you will see 3 text boxes (Ip address) (DNS Name) (Port)
Fill those boxes and select "DNS" in Connect to" option.
