SMTP email troubles with OVH email server

    Hello,

I just changed my email provider and I'd like to update Zabbix configuration to continue to receive alerts.

    This is my config:

    SMTP server: pro2.mail.ovh.net
    SMTP server port: 587

    SMTP helo: mydomain.io
    SMTP email: Zabbix <[email protected]>
    Connection security: STARTTLS

    SSL verify peer: unchecked
    SSL verify host: unchecked

    Authentication: Username and password
    Username: [email protected]
    Password: **************

With this config I have this error: "
An authentication function returned an error"
    Can someone help me?

    Regards.

Which zabbix server version do you use? And how are the others options like SSL/StartSSL you've set?
Do you have tested this with a email client like thunderbird if the details are correct?

        Thanks for your reply.
Yes details works with other services and I'm also using another media type mail service (zimbra server) and it works. It works with M365 email account as well. I'm using Zabbix 5.4.5

Shouldn't you solve this issue together with your email provider? If you changed provider and things stopped working, it is obviously related to change. Maybe you should review providers requirements for using their mail relays? It is, as it seems, config error, and not Zabbix error.
