    Recommend using the MariaDB Connector/C

I read in the "Required software" section of the Zabbix documentation that the "MariaDB Connector / C library" is recommended when using a MariaDB database.

"InnoDB engine is required. We recommend using the MariaDB Connector / C library for building server / proxy."

I haven't seen any mention of this in any Zabbix installation documentation so far.
    Does anyone use this?
What exactly is it, what is it for, why is it recommended to use it?

    Hi there!

You dont need really to focus on those details unless you are compiling.
Install MariaDB with InnoDB configured. If you are installing via packages, all dependencies will be installed, including this one.

    Hope I could help (:

Same recommendation is there for all 5.x versions...There is a link to its page, where you can obtain it. I am not using MySql or MariaDB, but I am pretty sure it is there because it works better that other options......
