Installing Zabbix server on Google Cloud f1-micro VM instance

Hello! I looked up this on Google, but could not find information relevant to my specific case.
I’m trying to install Zabbix on a Google Cloud basic VM.

When I search the package, I find this one:

    zabbix-server-mysql/unknown,now 1:5.4.7-1+debian10 amd64 [installed]

Zabbix network monitoring solution - server (MySQL)

This is the one that corresponds to my VM. For some reason, I’m not getting it to work (you can see my n00b post here)

Is there anything I’m missing? Is there any special preparation or tip you can give this new user to get this to work?
For some reason, seems like simply installing Zabbix won’t do, and not sure what I’m doing wrong.

Any help or tips is highly appreciated!

    Hello there!

So did you install the official repository or this package is from google repo? (step by step for debian - https://www.zabbix.com/documentation.../debian_ubuntu)
about your linked post: When I had a issue like that, was because SELinux. As soon as I disabled it, it worked - setenforce 0

Hello niveastn! It was an official repo! However, after long investigating and whatnot, turned out that v5.x would not work on Debian Buster (at least not on Google Cloud VM), so downloading v.4.0 LTS instead allowed me to install the tool.

Thank you so much for your assistance though! I hope you’re having a nice weekend :-)
