1mil + files in Temporary Internet Files

Posting an experience I had with Zabbix, possibly a bug worth looking into. We started using Zabbix about 6 months ago and I quickly setup screens to monitors groups or servers. I was leaving the screens windows open in my browser (IE11) for most of the working day. My Zabbix administrator later said that leaving these open all day is causing excessive load to the Zabbix server. I stopped the practice and now only look when needed, and setup alerts to send me an email instead of leaving the screen open. Later I found IE to be extremely slow to open, it would tack sometime 15-25 minutes to open the first time and then I could use it every day. I began to dig deeper into the issue and here is what I found.

Somehow Zabbix uses the temporary internet files cache, a copy of the png files for each screen is created. In my case there were over a million files in the folder. The normal process of clearing the folder did not work. It was not able to process. I was forced to manually delete the files via the cmd line "del /F /S /Q /A "C:\Users\MyName\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\T emporary Internet Files\*.*"

the files were like "…\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\12Y4BEF0\chart.23GKJFQ03.png:

It took many hours to clean the data up manually, when done my IE returned to good performance again.

The million+ files also slowed down my entire system.
