    Monitoring Tool for Zabbix

    Hello

I have Zabbix 2.4.6 to Monitor my Servers.
At the moment We have about 300 Servers online. Now I want to compare
them, to see how much Disk root they are using. The best way to do that would be a graph with all Servers and the percentage of the used Disk root. This isn't possible with Zabbix and I have no Idea which Program or Plugin would do that.
At the moment I'm testing the grafana-zbbix plugin but it isn't really what I want. Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks for any input you can provide.

This actually is possible with Zabbix using graphs.

You need to take the following steps:
    1. Make sure that each host you wish to compare has the item for monitoring disk space on root
    2. Create a graph on any host that has the item
    3. Populate the above graph with the item from each host
    4. Select the type of graph that you wish to use for comparison; line graph, or pie graph would be best suited for this.

Once you have created the graph, you should begin seeing the relevant data immediately!

So I did it like said but there is stille the problem, that the hosts are not sorted by percentage of usage, so you have to search very long and can't compare very easy.

And I have over 290 Hosts...

With only 5 hosts it is already a mess even with the Pie chart as you can see
        on the attached pic...

You didn't mention sorting by most used was a criteria!

I am not aware of any built-in way to sort this data in the way that you have described.

Is it really necessary to compare all 300 servers at the same time though?
Why not create a trigger that reflects your maximum threshold of root disk usage? You could then only see the servers that are using above that amount and graph them.

Do you mean a trigger like more then 80% or something like that?
Because I allready tried that but couldn't figure out how to display the hosts which are filtered by this trigger. I only can choose the Item which I want to display on the graph but how could I display only the Items which are filtered by trigger which says only if usage is >80%?

It would be also good but sorting all 300 would be the best option. I think it's a little bit weird that such an option isn't already existing...

Yes, you would have to setup the trigger for all hosts that you wish to be included; all 300 of your hosts. This can easily be done by adding the trigger to a common template, or just creating a new template and adding it to your host groups.

Then, when a host is above your threshold defined in the trigger, it will show up on your list and you can view them accordingly.

I would encourage you to open a ticket with the Zabbix development team; there is a major release that is expected to come out soon, this would be a great feature.
