Host prototypes - dynamic host groups based on parent - LLD for parent hosgroup

This one I could not figure out documentation for or find any answers on the forums (the question has been asked though).

I am trying to configure VMWAre (ESXI) host discovery via the built in "Template VM VMware". The template uses host discovery rules.
Under Host discovery there is an option to specify at least on static group and a group prototype.
From what I've read in the docs the group prototype must contain an LLD rule. I am looking to place the discovered hosts in the same host group as the parent object the discovery was done from.

TL;DR: Is there a an LLD rule to reference the parent object template or some way to reference a static macro within the parent object?

The LLD thing I did not solve, but I found a workaround for my template issue.

To reiterate: I wanted the VMWare template to discover ESXI hosts and place them in the correct customer host group.
I achieved this by fully cloning the existing template, editing the discovery rules to include membership in the group I wanted and the using that template fort the customer.

First "Full clone" the "Template VM VMware" template - I tag the customer name at the end.
Then go into the "Discovery rules" for the template. Under "Discover VMware hypervisors" or "Discover VMware VMs" chose "Host prototypes". Click the single items of "{#VM.NAME}" . There under groups specify the groups you want your dsicovered ESXI/VMs to be in.
This is all still on Zabbix 5.0
