Unable to add templates to host

    Hi,

I finally got Vcenter integration working in Zabbix. All guests are shown, but when I go to the template page only this i ssown:

Name:	08.png
Views:	763
Size:	28.7 KB
ID:	434645

The specific host is our LDAP Server and I would like to monitor ldap status with an available template. For some reason I cannot link a template to hosts which have been populated automatically after VCENTER integration. Any ideas?

Does your discovered host have custom agent interface? I do not have 5.x installation at hand, but starting from 5.2 it should be possible.
Currently it looks like your host is just based on prototype, probably having UUID as hostname and it will not be possible to connect it to any real agent anyway... I think I mentioned it in other thread somewhere that this is vmware view of things. if you want host side view (including any additional monitoring), install an agent, create separate host and monitor it via agent.

A lot of my latest posts are lost, as forum dropped about 500 of my posts.. banned me for a while etc...admins working on restoring...

Thanks. You are right. Host names are as UUID. Bad thing Now I have do do a lot of more work setting up all VMs as hosts. So VCENTER integration is giving no benefit at all.

Install agent on hosts and set up autoregistration rules, they will pop up like mushrooms after rain.. If you have some kind of software distribution tool ready, it should not be very complicated task..
