    SNMPv3 support while creating HOST

    Hi,
I am analysing network monitors and I found Zabbix to be interesting. I have a quick question regarding SNMPv3 configuration while creating a HOST.

    Zabbix Version: 1.1.2
PC on which Zabbix installed: Suse Linux V9.3

    Problem:
My Linux PC, which I want to control is configured with SNMPv3. And I created a host entry in Zabbix. But it is giving timeout in monitor section of the configuration page for this PC.
So, How do I create the host entry with SNMPv3 configuration ?

when you create the item, you specifie the type snmpv3, and you can enter the security parameters.

if this doesn't work, try accessing in command line with snmpget or snmpwalk, if you can't access snmp with snmpget, zabbix can't either, and snmpget allow you to see what's happening and where are the errors

the timeout can come from a wrong version of snmp
i thought my 3com switches supported snmpv2, but they never responded
i switched to snmpv1 in zabbix, and all work well
