    Zabbix database growing fast

I have Zabbix 5.0 installed on a VM server. Ram is 16 GB and 8 vCPUs. My Zabbix database growing fast and already it used 256GB of storage. Daily using around 3GB to 5GB. Any idea how to stop this?

Also, CPU usage is high on every hour but for 15 minutes due to Zabbix MySql quarries, and Load averages were high once every hour/rest of the time it was normal.

A number of enabled hosts 1409, # items enabled 18725, # of triggers enabled 4985

This topic has been discussed a lot in forum - try to search it. General recommendation is:

dont use too short interval for data collection ( something like 1m for everything is not the best idea )
think about your history a trend settings
check partitioning for the database ( again lots been discussed - out of the box support with timescale )
user preprocessing where possible ( throttling with heartbeat )
check you item - how big are the data collected stored - maybe you're storing large json as master items ( set hoisotry to 0, only dependend items needs to be stored ) , logs and traps can also be a zabbix/db killer

DB growth depends on several things, how often you poll items and for how long you keep data.
If your cpu goes high on every full hour, it is probably a housekeeper, removing old data... if it takes 15 minutes with so small number of items/triggers, your db probably needs optimization.
