    vfs dir count

Hi All, We are trying to set up a directory counter to monitor the number of files in the directory, and the following is the trigger we have set up : {ora05p:vfs.dir.count["/oradata01/tlog/cs/3a","^.*\.log$",,file].last(#4,60s)}>=4 The trigger is supposed to trigger if the count of files exceeds 4 files in our directory. But we are not sure of the results. Can someone tell us if this is configured properly? TIA

last(#4) means 4th value from the last... like if you have values ... 0,1,2,3,4,5 then last(#4) refers to 2.
If you want to compare last value then use just "last()>=4"

HI Cyber, so it would look like this configured? {ora05p:vfs.dir.count["/oradata01/tlog/cs/3a","^.*\.log$",,file].last()>=4 Is the 60s unnecessary and will the alarm clear automatically if the files drop below 4?

yes.. if you need trigger to be based on last value then no need for any time shift... but if you like it to be based on last value 60sec ago... then be my guest, use that time shift also...
And of course it will clear, when expression returns false.
