Monitoring VMware Datastore Usage

I'm using Zabbix 2.4 and I'd like to monitor my ESX environment. I was able to get the Hypervisor template working and it gives me most of what I need. However, I'd really like to be able to monitor total datastore usage. I'm able to monitor datastore latency with the template but monitoring the overall capacity would be more helpful. I've researched this issue and it seems the only way to do it is using ssh monitoring. Is this the case? If so how do I configure it.

Use snmp traps in vcenter Server ans create a alarm Definition in vmware vcenter for the usage. That could be a solution..
