Inventory population requires you to set up an item, which queries the data you need and then you can enable "populate inventory" and choose the field, which one will be populated.
But...So you cannot use very big amount of data there... Numbers, text etc goes, but longer things, requiring log type will not work. I think full list of software might fall into this category...Populates host inventory field You can select a host inventory field that the value of item will populate. This will work if automatic inventory population is enabled for the host.
This field is not available if Type of information is set to 'Log'.
