    ICMPPINGLOSS Graph Hung Up On 66.67%

    I'm performing a simple lab;
    Two Centos 6.7 (no GUI)VMs with Zabbix Server 2.4 on one VM and Zabbix Proxy on the other VM.
    My end goal it to use zabbix ICMP to track the Network legacy between Servers in our WAN Network.

    I used Zabbix default ICMP Template.
    First I created my host (8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4) for this test, then added them to the default ICMP template.
    Works Great, I was trending data (i.e. 1 sec intervals) and my graph was matching my cli on my host.
    So I decided to make a simple test to see the performance/ accuracy of ICMP data trending in a graph.

    On my CentOS Proxy Server I add the following Command.
    root# route add -host 8.8.8.8 reject

    This was to see if my ICMPPINGLOSS Item would show that my host was down/unreachable , long response time and 100% loss on my graph.

    My response time was getting higher then ICMPPINGLOSS stopped at 66.67%, ICMPPING showed it was still up, and my response time quit , no more lines on the graph.
    See Attachment

    I researched this forum and Googled my butt off to find a solution on why my graph just stops trend, really could use some advice.
    Thx in advance

    I guess what I want to know is why did my icmppingloss graph item stopped at 66.67%. Knowing my proxy is rejecting my host (i.e. 8.8.8.8) it should show 100% loss, also my icmpping Item should show loss of connection or stated "0" on the graph/latest data but its not. it still states host 8.8.8.8 is up. when I ping 8.8.8.8 there is not a connection.
    Any advice would be appreciated, thanks

      Items and Graph Work

      I did a little more research into why i was only able to see 33.37% packet lost after i shut down my host route.
      I tried to configure Zabbix Server Config file and Uncomment #FpingLocation=/usr/sbin/fping.
      From what i read on Zabbix forum ICMP on Zabbix uses Fping.
      Also Read https://support.zabbix.com that zabbix ICMP work good with fping version 3.10
      NOTE: I have fping: Version 2.4b2_to $Date: 2002/01/16 00:33:42.

      To remove fping from Zabbix Server/Zabbix Proxy Server I did the following;
      # rpm -qa | grep "fping"
      fping-2.4b2-16.el6.x86_64
      # rpm -e --nodeps "fping-2.4b2-16.el6.x86_64"
      Then i install new version;
      # wget http://pkgs.repoforge.org/fping/fpin....rf.x86_64.rpm
      # rpm -ivh http://pkgs.repoforge.org/fping/fpin....rf.x86_64.rpm
      Completed;
      [root@localhost ~]# fping -v
      fping: Version 3.9
      fping: comments to [email protected]
      I don't know if this did it, but it now works.
      I tested it by Shutting down Eth0 on the proxy server also i create windows host without a agent on it, then I shut down the windows VM. I was able to collect data from packet loss of 100% and the trigger/s fired.
      All good now, hope this might help someone in the future.
