    Remote host in active mode, but server keeps trying to connect as passive

    Hello everybody!

    As said in the subject, I installed a zabbix agent on a remote Windows Server in order to monitor this machine.
    I have my Zabbix server at my HQ behind a firewall configured in order to allow port 10051 to get to the Zabbix Server machine.
    Note that I already have some remote zabbix proxies that correctly work with my Server.

    Configured this host agent with only active checks.

    Till that, everything fine.

    The problem is that unless the active checks correctly works (I have all the metrics on my Zabbix Server), the Zabbix server keeps to say that the Agent is offilne, and I can trace that the server keeps to try (and obviously fail) to connect to the remote agent...

    I don't know how to get out of this issue...

    Thanx a lot in advance!

    UPDATE:
    I just tried those two modifications:

    1. Set "Server=127.0.0.1" in the passive agent checks.
    2. Set "StartAgents=0" in order to totally disable the passive section of the agent.

    Results:
    Modification n° 1, did not changed anything
    Modification n° 2 maked the zabbix agent service to not start at all

    I'm still hanging in the dark...

      unless the active checks correctly worksthe Zabbix server keeps to say that the Agent is offilne
      -> https://www.zabbix.com/documentation...t-availability

      Zabbix server determines an unknown status for the corresponding agent interface (Zabbix, SNMP, IPMI, JMX) if:
      • there are no enabled items on the interface (they were removed or disabled);
      • there are only active Zabbix agent items;
      • there are no pollers for that type of the interface (e.g. StartPollers=0);
      • host is disabled;
      • host is set to be monitored by proxy, a different proxy or by server if it was monitored by proxy;
      • host is monitored by a proxy that appears to be offline (no updates received from the proxy during the maximum heartbeat interval - 1 hour).

      I can trace that the server keeps to try to connect to the remote agent...

      connections to provide this functionality (I think so)

        Thanx a lot for the reply!
        My agent availability is not marked as "unknown", but "not available", but is not a big problem...
        I can ignore this alarm and keep collecting data via active checks.

        I'm sorry, but I can't understand what do you want to mean "connections to provide this functionality (I think so)"
