We installed Zabbix to monitor the traps we receive from different hosts. We don't have a list of IP's of hosts that are using our application, and even if we had, these IPs might change over time.
If we go to configuration and add a new host with the ip for SNMP interface, and send trap from the host to zabbix, we see the trap data under latest data.
But if we don't have the host IP registered under configuration (which will be the case for us), we are unable to see the traps.
Actually, we see those traps under the file zabbix_traps.tmp (written to by a perl script, which handles receiving traps) but when we check the latest data, the traps in the file are not shown on the latest data interface.
We would like to know how we can see the data as is. No filters for defined ips, nothing. We want to see whatever traps we receive.
