Event Correlation for network devices going offline

In my network environment I have situations where a group of network devices will go offline due to maintenance or failure our power source (Power source is generator on some sites). When our power source goes down I get notifications/problems for each individual device that loses connection to the server. I would like for 1 problem when a group of devices goes offline. Can event correlation solve this problem? Or is there another solution? If event correlation can take care of this, what is a recommended way to integrate that into my environment?

Thank you for sharing, I did quite a bit of research, this was my last effort. I did not come across that forum link you shared
