Import standardized templates for network devices

Hello,

Today I upgraded my 5.4 Zabbix to the 6.0 version and it went smoothly so far.

Since I managed lots of Mikrotik devices, I was eager to use the new standardized templates for Mikrotik. So far, I'm using the Mikrotik SNMPv3 template.

Browsing on the Templates section on Zabbix, I cannot find the new templates unfortunately.

Based on this documentation, it says:

• If you are upgrading from previous versions, you can find these templates in the templates directory of the downloaded latest Zabbix version. While in Configuration → Templates you can import them manually from this directory.

I'm not sure what this actually means.

Can you please help or clarify how to import these new templates?

I guess if you download source package for that version, you might be able to find that directory ... (I'm too lazy to verify)
But you can download them also from git https://git.zabbix.com/projects/ZBX/...s/net/mikrotik

Ah great, that actually worked. Downloaded all new templates and imported the ones I wanted.

I wasn't aware that new templates aren't imported automatically with the upgrade process, I have to schedule this and update accordingly if any changes are made to templates.

If you upgrade, then templates are not touched, nothing will be overwritten. You really would not like, if someone comes and slams somekind of default setup on your finely tuned template..
New templates are installed only during fresh install.
