    Low disk usage alert

    Hi,
    (I can't edit the title, it should be "Low disk space alert")
    I'm trying to create "Low disk usage" alert&email notifications but somehow it's not working.

    First I applied "Linux filesystems by Zabbix agent active" template to all hosts.

    Then I create an "Item Prototype" for "/" disk space in that template like below.

    Click image for larger version Name:	Capture.jpg Views:	0 Size:	103.0 KB ID:	442655

    After that I create a "Trigger Prototype" like below;

    Click image for larger version Name:	Capture.jpg Views:	0 Size:	104.6 KB ID:	442656

    But I don't see any alert on Dashboard or Problems page. What am I doing wrong?

    Thanks!

      Yes because you have created an item that will be the same on what LLD will do, namely create an item key named vfs.fs.size[/,pused]. If you look on the host which is attached to this template you'll see an error within the discovery rules items. Probably something like "item key already exists".

        Thanks for the message Incama,

        Yes because you have created an item that will be the same on what LLD will do
        I'm trying to get alerts from only specific directory, like "/", so you mean this alert/config/item already exist in other "Item prototypes"?

        namely create an item key named vfs.fs.size[/,pused]
        Don't get it here, I already created an "Item prototype key" like "vfs.fs.size[/,pused]"? You mean something else?

        So my goal is trying to create alerts for some specific directories like "/", "/opt" etc.

          vfs.fs.size isn't used for directories but for fs (filesystem). You need to create an item using vfs.dir.size and then create the trigger. Also, don't use discovery when you know what directory you want to monitor cause that's a whole other ballgame.

          And please, read the docs!

            Remove those prototypes you added, they are no good. If you really added this template to all hosts, then after 1h it should create 4 items per filesystem. and probably 4 triggers per FS also... If not, then problem is not in template, but somewhere else....

            My problems with Zabbix are usually covered with acronym PEBCAK.... So may be with others...

            I am pretty sure "directory" in original post" is meant as "filesystem". There can be language specialities

              Exaclty. I'm trying to create alert for some specific "filesystems".

              I tried to follow this video first, he used "vfs.fs.size" for "/" filesystem. And it seems worked, without prototypes. But didn't worked for me. --> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zFy05PT8RpI&t=748s

              But I also will try Incama's suggestion, I'll try to create an "Item&trigger", not with prototypes with "vfs.dir.size".

              I'll inform again if it's going to work or not.

              Thanks!

                Now I just created a new template "Filesystem Monitoring - Manual", and created a new Item like below(without prototypes);

                Click image for larger version Name:	2.jpg Views:	0 Size:	94.1 KB ID:	442815

                And then created a new trigger:

                Click image for larger version Name:	3.jpg Views:	0 Size:	93.5 KB ID:	442816

                So I wanted create an alert for only "/" filesystem, and for testing purposes, if disk usage is more than 1%, it should create and alert I guess.

                I applied this template to the servers but no alerts so far.

                What am I doing wrong?

                Thanks!
