    Strange behaviour

    Hello,

I've zabbix as a VM on my PC (just testing it)
and another VM on the same PC.

Both got IP addresses from my router
    Zabbix : 192.168.0.104
Ubuntu VM to Monitor : 192.168.0.106

I've installed the zabbix agent on my ubuntu
and set a new host on my zabbix.

The "Z" symbol in my zabbix for my ubuntu VM turn green
and the system work well, however if I check the zabbix_agent.log on the ubuntu machine I see that the connection refused :
    Code:
    /var/log/zabbix-agent# tail -f zabbix_agentd.log
zabbix_agentd [3598]: Error on thread waiting.
3598:20160107:180721.992 Zabbix Agent stopped. Zabbix 2.2.2 (revision 42525).
3626:20160107:180728.662 Starting Zabbix Agent [Ubuntu]. Zabbix 2.2.2 (revision 42525).
      3626:20160107:180728.662 using configuration file: /etc/zabbix/zabbix_agentd.conf
      3628:20160107:180728.662 agent #0 started [collector]
      3629:20160107:180728.662 agent #1 started[listener #1]
      3630:20160107:180728.662 agent #2 started[listener #2]
      3631:20160107:180728.663 agent #3 started[listener #3]
      3632:20160107:180728.663 agent #4 started [active checks #1]
3632:20160107:180731.663 active check configuration update from [192.168.0.104:10050] started to fail (cannot connect to [[192.168.0.104]:10050]: [4] Interrupted system call)
Router is set to port forward 10050 and 10051 to 192.168.0.104

    Suggestions ?
    Thanks

The error message you see in the Zabbix agent log is related to active Item processing. The Zabbix agent was not able to connect to its configured Zabbix server to request list of active items.

The Zabbix agent may process Items actively (autonomous) and passively (prompted by Zabbix server/proxy).

    See:
Concepts of Zabbix agent and Passive and active agent checks.

The 'Z' icon you refer to (as each of these icons) are related to passive Item processing. That's to say, when Zabbix server/proxy has to connect to the monitored entity to obtain an Item values.
