    Dashboard help, please

How do I create a dashboard that is publicly viewable?
By that I mean does not require a user name and password and can be set as a link that can be shared?

For instance our help desk auto-replies with a 'we got it' message, that message includes a link to our current monitoring system. The user can click the link and is taken to a page that shows up\down status of all the devices - a sort of NOC view.

That user is not required to type in a username and password as the dashboard is set to globally public viewing.

How do I accomplish this with Zabbix?

Think of Zabbix access model... host groups vs user groups. You can only see data, that is available to your user in that matrix. So making everything available without any user/passwd requires making everything visible to guest user... Do you want that?

I think that means it can't be done? As I do want to and currently do share a public dashboard utilizing site24x7 that is visible to anyone that has the link.

Can you pass the user and password in the link? Create a generic user that has permission to a specific dashboard and then implant the user and pw in the shared link? If so could you provide an example?

Not being able to share status of devices utilizing a NOC type of view or a GeoMap is a stopper for me. I like for our end users to be able to see that everything is up and that no issues exist.

        Hello TecDragon,

As cyber said, the guest user is the only one that is not required to login for access to the front end.
You could do something like this: https://ZABBIXIP/zabbix/index.php?name=USERHERE&password=PASSHERE$&enter=S ign%20in
But i think guest approach is more elgant.

Keep in mind that everyone with the zabbix URL or ip address will have access to everything in the Monitoring tab, including historical data, problems and dashboards according to the host group/user group permissions that you assign to the guest user or the service account unless you create a new role with specific permission to access dashboards only.

        Regards

Thank you max, but as long as I create a user with exceptionally limited capabilities I should be ok. Your approach is similar to the approach I was using with LibreNMS but left it behind due to it not having an agent to monitor windows devices.
