Aggregate counting Values that revert to 0 after a reboot

    Hello

We have a device that is a relay module, it is possible within the relay module to poll it via SNMP or setup an SNMP trap to output how many times the relay was tripped. It works perfectly and we have this data going into Zabbix.

Unfortunately every time the relay module is rebooted it reverts back to 0 and starts counting over again, therefore zabbix does the same.

Does anyone know how we can perform a cumulative function so that zabbix would essentially add the values together? I don't believe it can be done with a straight calculation as zabbix would have to know when to add vs when to increment.

It is possible for us to control the counters logic ie restart at 5 or when it hits a certain value increment another variable, etc.

Hopefully this makes sense, and ideally one of you geniuses out there will know how to do this.

Thanks in advance for your help.
