Will Zabbix 6 run on RHEL 9?

We are about to set up Zabbix...is there any problems running it on RHEL 9 when it comes out?

RHEL 9 is out, it went general availability (GA) in May.

I haven't seen vendor-provided packages for RHEL 9 yet, but I suspect it will be easy to rebuild the existing packages on RHEL 9.

Keep in mind that RHEL 9 has again deprecated certain encryption bits, so if you're using older clients and you require encryption between Zabbix agent running on the older clients and your Zabbix server, you may have some challenges getting common ciphers, etc.

Just to follow up with some additional information: I installed a RHEL 9.0 build box yesterday to begin getting familiar with the new release. One of the first things I did was use our local source RPM for Zabbix 5.0.x and the latest 5.0.24 source code. I had to make a bunch of adjustments to the RPM's spec file because of behavior changes in rpm/rpmbuild, but Zabbix 5.0.24 compiled without any issue on RHEL 9. I actually wasn't expecting it to be as easy as it was; I figured RHEL 9's OpenSSL 3.0.1 would cause some kind of issue for Zabbix 5.0.x, and only Zabbix 6.0.x would support that recent version, but 5.0.24 built without any issue.

It's of course possible that there have been subtle changes in APIs or differences with newer versions of dependent packages, so that 5.0.24 compiled fine but there might be operational issues in certain areas. That will take longer to discover, but the rebuild looks very promising so far.
