I'm sure this comes up a lot but I had a scan through the recent posts and couldn't find anything so hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I've just setup a Zabbix deployment (for the first time) and got it working with a Zabbix Proxy server so we can monitor remote hosts at our client sites.
We deal entirely with Windows environments and we have about 30 Dell PowerEdge and HP Proliant servers on Windows Server (various) that I'd like to monitor spread across 20 odd sites. The most import metric I'd like to capture is the health/status of the RAID arrays so we can check for drive degradation etc.
I'm currently testing with a Dell PowerEdge R330 that is running OpenManage and has an iDrac 8 installed and configured. I've tried the Dell OpenManage template available in the online (3rd party) resources but this seems to be designed for Linux systems and aside from the basic ICMP data its not really picking anything else up and says that several services aren't running which look like Linux services.
I figure that this must be a pretty common requirement to monitor these types of servers so could someone point me in the right direction? All servers have Dell OpenManage or HP Insights installed so Windows templates for these would be the easiest way to roll it out but happy to go with whichever method is most recommended
