Pretty new to Zabbix and trying to create an item that will pull the event log from our esx hosts, but it displays an error "Invalid 2nd parameter' below is how it's configured: Could anyone advise?

vmware.eventlog[<url>,<mode>] VMware event log. Log url - VMware service URL
mode - all (default), skip - skip processing of older dataThere must be only one vmware.eventlog[] item key per URL.

So, second parameter is wrong... either leave it out (defaults) or set to "skip" -
Thanks, just taking out that second parameter seems to have worked, however on the esx host I was testing this on yesterday it now gives the error 'Too old events requested' - same settings work fine on my other two esx hosts. I tried deleting the item and recreating but still the same?Comment

Leaving out second parameter tries to retrieve all events. Maybe there is some kind of restrictions in vmware side for that... I am not familiar with that. But if you set that parameter to "skip", then it should start reading from the end, skipping all old ones, and returns events from "now on"...Comment
