zabbix agent version to install

I'm going to install zabbix agent onto this platform linux debian host:
Here is the OS and kernel versions:
cat /etc/debian_version
6.0.10

uname -a
Linux hnm-connect.simnet.is 2.6.32-5-686 #1 SMP Fri Feb 5 16:51:13 UTC 2016 i686 GNU/Linux

Now my question is, what zabbix release can I use?
Is it supported to install the latest version 3.0 ?

Oops, my miss. Zabbix agents 2.x are compatible with 3.0 server.

yes, I've already installed an Zabbix server 3.0 on Ubuntu.
But I've an old platform , which is debinan 6.0 with old kernel version 2.6.
Just asking about if I need version 2.2 or 2.4 for such an old kernel?

Official repo has only 2.2 version for Debian 6.0. You may build newer by yourself.
