Installation of 6.2, Zabbix database scripts empty

    Hi All,

I'm installing Zabbix 6.2 on Ubuntu. When I download the packages it creates the directories for the scripts but they do not have any scripts in them, the directories are empty.
    This exists
    /usr/share/doc/zabbix-sql-scripts/postgresql/
    But does not have:
    server.sql.gz

Cat I grab it from somewhere else?

    Thanks for your time.

    Matt

Is the /etc/dpkg/dpkg.cfg.d/excludes file set not to install files under /usr/share/doc?

Which packages have you installed? (dpkg -l zabbix\*)

Specifically, have you installed the zabbix-sql-scripts package?

Thanks, yes. It's showing it installed but that directory no files. I've tried removing that package and re-installing but it doesn't want to do it for me.

I'm a noob, is there a log to look at for the install? -Maybe there's a write error that isn't printing(?)

Can you show the outputs to us?

Also, what does "dpkg -L zabbix-sql-scripts" show?

apt logs are in /var/log/apt in Ubuntu, I think.

Thank you both so much for your help!

It was in the excludes file. I edited that and it's all working!!

Nice catch, and never knew about that feature. Not related to Zabbix anymore, but what could be a reason that someone would use that setting in a relatively new Ubuntu installation? Or is that a standard setting in Ubuntu (I guess not)?

I think it was the default when I started the Ubuntu image on the Docker container. Also, there is a purpose to reduce disk consumption by not installing documents. For example, when preparing only the execution environment without using the man command etc., the document is unnecessary.

I ran the minimal server install. Perhaps it isn't excluded if it's the Desktop version.
