    Migrating from nagios

    Hi

I have a fairly large nagios setup with quite a few hosts situated behind firewalls. The clients can access the nagios server, but the server cannot access these clients directly.

On these clients, I am running custom code of mine which runs nagios checks and submits the results passively via a ssh connection.

On the server, a process picks up all these passive checks, and submits them to the nagios server socket file.

Can I do a similar thing with zabbix?

Yes, you can do all this with ZABBIX. Use Active Check in order to avoid connections from ZABBIX server, the agents will communicate with the server instead.
