Lately I've found myself needing to create many templates with items and triggers based on event ids. Creating all these manually gets tiresome, and I've looked for ways to speed up the process. I found that I could export a template with a single item/trigger and then open it in Excel. This allows me to quickly duplicate the pairs, and then just modify the event id, description, and name. It also duplicates the GUIDs associated with these items.
Are these GUIDs important for any reason other than providing a unique identifier for each item? If I were to blank them out and reimport, would Zabbix automatically generate them?
