Zabbix Service On Windows

Dear all:

I'm a new user Zabbix. I Installed the zabbix server on Ubuntu. Now im trying to monitor some windows servers.
I installed the windows agent without problem but when i try to start it i received this error:
"Windows Could not start the Zabbix Agent Service on Local Computer.
Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion".

Somebody can help me?

Some additional data:
Conf Zabbix Agent File:
Server= 10.2.2.164 (here is the ip of my zabbix server)
ServerActive=10.2.2.70 (the ip of the windows host that i wanna to monitor)

Hope somebody can help me ass soon as possible.

Hi,

I don't know if this is the same problem but I got a similar response if I didn't configure zabbix_agentd.exe at the time of installation. I did everything from cmd and within the Zabbix directory - and used the -c (configure) option at the same time as the -i (install). So:

> zabbix_agentd.exe -i -c zabbix_agentd.conf
> zabbix_agentd.exe -s

(Edited to add: if your config file is elsewhere, you'll need to put the path in as well as the file name.)

You may have to uninstall the zabbix agent first, though:

> zabbix_agentd.exe -d

Let me know if it's not that and I'll check my notes for other issues I had!

First of all. Thank you for your quick answer.

I uninstalled the agent service and then followed your instructions.

The agent starts without problem but now i cant connect to the server from zabbix server.

There is something addiotional conf that i must to do?

I modified the conf file and on ServerActive put the IP of de server to monitor:10050

Hi,

Well, glad that bit helped.

Sorry I missed the bit about the ServerActive / Server before. ServerActive should be the same as the Server, as you're telling the agented host that this is where instructions are coming from.

Then uninstall, install & configure, and start.

The next step is check that the firewall allows zabbix_agentd.exe through, on port 10050.

How's that work for you?

ServerActive must be the IP of the Zabbix Server?

I put the IP of the host that i wanna to monitor.

Can not uninstall

I have the same problem but unfortunately i cant Uninstall the agent, Windows says : This app cant run on your PC / to find a version for your PC connect your publisher

My host is a windows server 2012 x64
and my agent is v3.0.4

I guess that i used a wrong .conf file for installing now that i want to reinstall it i 'm facing another error

I had installed agent on the same machines before and it had not occurred!
