Disable/Enable user effects.

Hi ,
I know I can disable or enable a user in the GUI. But I haven't been able to find any documentation on what it means to enable or disable a user.
I would like to have a user that will receive notification emails but cannot login.
If I create that user, setup the notifications and disable the user, will Zabbix send the emails ? Or does disable mean any action for that user is disabled ?
Documentation would be very welcome.

User as such cannot be disabled. You just don't have any such place in user config.. All permissions to a user are given through user groups. There you can say that users of this group are enabled/disabled.
Through user group config you can also disable GUI login... Just set Frontend access to "disabled".
So create a user group what has enough permissions to view everything this user needs to be alerted about (remember, user is not alerted about things it has no access), but set gui access to disabled. place that user in that group and problem solved.

BTW I'm still on 3.4 if that is relevant.

I have now created a group with read access on all hosts and no GUI login right and I have also added that group to the Trigger action that sent mail to the existing admin group.
Now I just have to wait for an event to trigger. It would be nice if there is an option to send a test mail when configuring email Media for that user.

BTW the enabled/disabled question was about this:
In the user list I get a column Status which contains "Enabled" or "Disabled" but I cannot find any documentation on what that means for the user.
What's the difference for a user to have status Enabled or Disabled ?

3.4 is pretty ancient.. But IIRC permission system was pretty much the same there...
if that user gets "disabled" it is pretty much unusable. should not receive notifications also...
