    Zabbix agent configuration Issues

    Hello,

I am trying to configure Zabbix agent to a host

Here are the steps which I am following

    1) Creating Host
    2) Adding it to group of Linux Servers
    3) IP address
    3) Assigning templates ICMP Ping & Template OS Linux

When I enable it, here is the error I get "Zabbix agent on (HOST) is unreachable for 5 minutes"

Please let me know if I am missing anything

    Thank You

    Hi jay-five-c!

All steps which you described were done on Zabbix Server.
But something have to be done on the other side, on Zabbix Agent.
Did you install Zabbix agent on server which you would like to control?
    Did you configure it properly?
Did you check that you have a network connectivity between Zabbix Server and Zabbix Agent?
    Sincerely yours,
    Aleksey

You will need to download the client, if you haven't.

Decide where you want to put it, unzip and tar -xvf it to that location.

Edit the zabbix_agentd.conf and change the correct settings.

Once you have the setting complete, the red Z you see now for the host will turn green. It means...everyone is talking to each other. Then....you can start playing with the alerts.

yum install zabbix-agent if you are using package and configure.

            LOL... Been there, done that.

Mine took me a few tries to get it up and working correctly.

The configuration allows for some many different combinations of things... it's almost too much, IMO.

Either way!!!! Great work....You owe yourself a suitable adult beverage of your choice.

It was the conf file where I made blunder.

              Thanks for helping
