Migrate Database to a new Zabbix Server

    Hi Folks,

I'm new to the forum, Zabbix and Linux so please be gentle.

I've recently started in a new post where they have been testing Zabbix using a 2.2 appliance. This has been running well and has collected a lot of data.

Happy with how Zabbix works and how it collects and displays it's data we have decided to deploy Zabbix properly with a new version.

So, I have successfully deployed Zabbix version 3 on Ubuntu and it's running nicely.

Can I migrate the database from the 2.2 appliance onto the 3.0 Zabbix instance, or do I have to upgrade the appliance first or do some other funky stuff first?

    Thanks in advance.

I think you should just be able to upgrade your database to version 3 and that should be automatic when you start the zabbix server. However, make sure you take a backup first in case things go wrong.

If you're moving your database to a new server then complete the move of that before starting the zabbix server up and again it should just upgrade the database automatically. Watch the server log file when it starts up.

There are instructions here https://www.zabbix.com/documentation...lation/upgrade about the upgrade procedure that you should read fully before starting the process.

Again, make sure you have a good database backup before attempting the upgrade process.
