How to monitor instances and databases?

    Hi All,

I am new to Zabbix and I am trying to configure Zabbix in my work environment. However, we are trying to monitor an application. I have downloaded the agent on to the windows server in which the application is running on.

Also, I chose Template OS Windows. The agent, is running as well as the server, but I only get graphs relating to Disk space, incoming and out going network traffic, cpu load. We are trying to monitor instances on the application, which has a database. How do I go about monitoring that applications's database and instances.

Please can someone provide me with a work through. I will really appreciate that.

Depending on the database you can import the apropriate Zabbix-DB-template and link this to your database server.

There are quite a few available to cover most popular DB engines. I've installed one for MS SQL the other day and it was just as easy as described above. I do not run multiple instances on one server, so that was nothing I had to deal with...

Thank you, I really appreciate this. I am guessing you are referring to using a ms sql template to monitor the database server
