    zabbix remote network HELP !!!!

    Hi!! im new to zabbix.
Im doing a internship and it was asked me to implement zabbix to remotly monotoring the network.
In this case in our headquarters set a machine whit debian linux and monitor a client windows server
I have instaled the agent software on the remote windows server and set the parameters on the file zabbix_agented.conf
server -- the debian ip (zabbix)
server active -- the debian ip (zabbix)
hostname -- name of the windows server machine

on the debian -- went to the zabbix web interface and added the host

host name - the ip of the windows server

added agent - ip of the windows server

but for some reason is not connecting
i tried to find info online but is very disperse.
could some one give me a hint ?

do i need to do nat or port forwarding ?
do i need to open any firewall doors on windows server ?
    Or any thing else ?

    Thank you

On the remote server try to telnet to you Zabbix server, port 10051. If you can't, it's a network problem. Check zabbix server firewall, then any network firewalls. Server active means the first windows host will first try to connect to the zabbix server, use the windows by zabbix agent (active) templates.

And as an intern, do they should give you someone to ask for help like this. They may judge you by the amount and quality of the questions, not sure they would prefer to be asked or for you to seek outside help. Outside help won't help you gain knowledge of your network and policies.
